While walking at Vestre Gravlund cemetery in Oslo, it is easy to come over a grave by the alley going East from the main chapel.
Ryszard (Richard) Warsinski (1937-1996) was born in Gdynia, Poland, and moved to Oslo, Norway in 1964.
He was painting surreal images while abstract art dominated the world art scene.
As a first Pole, he was dedicated a separate exhibition room in old National Gallery in Oslo. Let us hope there is a place for his works in the new premises of the National Museum when it opens in 2022.
His works are rare, but still possible to acquire at art auctions on internet. Here are the examples: http://www.artnet.com/artists/ryszard-richard-warsinski/
